Job Summary

Implements all aspects of visitor services to maximize the positive visitor experience, such as disseminating general information, processing admission, conducting visitor orientation, conducting and compiling visitor data and surveys, and maintaining tour schedules, as well as answering phone calls, emails, and assisting with special projects throughout the museum. All departments, including administration, curatorial, and membership, are assisted.

  • Complete administrative tasks, project and support for all museum departments as needed and when scheduled.
  • Serves as lead in the absence of the Senior Visitor Services
  • Associate.
  • Maintains a well-informed, working knowledge of the exhibitions and services available at JMOF- FIU in order to greet visitors and provide museum tours.
  • Serves as an advocate for the visitor while simultaneously promoting the welfare of the Museum; communicates with a variety of visitors with diverse interest and abilities to ensure a positive Museum experience; resolves visitor concerns and complaints to their satisfaction and the Museum's.
  • Works with the Manager of Education as school/group tours are
  • scheduled to ensure proper invoicing, timely payments and
  • processing; input and process of sales income; works with the
  • Director of Finance and Administration to ensure Museum payment
  • policies and procedures are followed, and record keeping is
  • accurate and timely to maintain financial and data integrity.
  • Prepares and sends surveys to program participants and tracks responses. Helps with editing and design of weekly newsletter, online marketing and press releases.
  • Participates in appropriate committee activities such as attending
  • monthly meetings and providing administrative support as needed.
  • Supports other departments (festivals, lectures, etc.).
  • Assists with day-to-day operations of the information call and email center.
  • Assists with in-person museum events, including preparing RSVP lists, agenda, set up.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of customer service or related experience.
Desired Qualifications
  • 2 or more years of customer service experience (preferably in a museum setting.)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Comfortable working with the general public, trustees, members, and donors on the phone and/or in person.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, good oral and written communication skills, and outstanding attention to detail.
