Aircraft Technology, Inc., (ATI), a subsidiary of HEICO Corporation, is an FAA/EASA Part 145 Repair Station. ATI supports a wide range of rotary and fixed wing components found on both commercial and military platforms around the world.

ATI is seeking a Quality Inspector (FAA part 145 experience) for an immediate full time direct hire opportunity in Hollywood, FL.

ROLE: The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing preliminary, hidden-damage, in-process, and final inspections on civil aviation articles for continued airworthiness and on military and industrial parts per the current technical data provided in the manufacturer's instruction. The Inspector must be able to read and understand Service Bulletins, service letters, Airworthiness Directives, or any other data approved by the FAA, government, and industry-standard practices, and other data acceptable. The inspector will perform return-to-service inspections.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Inspects parts, assemblies, and finished products by contract specifications and/or legal requirements; follow company's inspection guidelines to conduct critical non-routine visual, dimensional, mechanical, electrical test, and functional inspections on a wide variety of components, assemblies, equipment, systems, supplies, and materials.
  • Performs complex and critical inspection procedures requiring special set-up of new or unique equipment and interpretation of test data from a variety of sources
  • Must know technical data and quality procedures as applicable to FAA Part 145 repair station.
  • Manage and review work orders while jobs are in progress monitoring for proper sign-offs.
  • Samples and tests incoming components and raw materials; tracks results.
  • Ensures raw materials, in-process, and finished products meet company standards.
  • Applies approval or rejection labels to bulk raw materials once analytical data is evaluated
  • Produces inspection reports as appropriate / requested
  • Minimizes downtime by reducing production rework and recalls.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as support other team members.
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned


EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent from an accredited school.

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least five years of relevant experience within FA Part 145 repair station, in which at least four years are in an inspector capacity.
  • At least two years of experience in the capacity of inspector for engine components.
  • At least two years of experience in dimensional inspection.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Airframe and Powerplant license preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILIITIES:

  • Language/Communication Skills: English: ability to read and interpret documents such as emails, reports and correspondence. Excellent ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient working knowledge of computer hardware and software, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to use basic mathematics.
  • Reasoning Abilities: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills, strict attention to details and ability to multitask and prioritize as necessary, with minimal supervisory direction.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Must work well and communicate with others. Must be flexible in handling multiple tasks
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with the scope and limitations of the liquid penetrant method(s); Familiarity with the scope and limitations of the radiographic inspection method(s)

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate.
