The Role

The Facilities Maintenance Manager in our Fort Lauderdale, Florida location will be responsible for inspecting and maintaining facility systems including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to ensure optimal operating results. The Facilities Maintenance Manager will oversee the facility operations, manage maintenance staff, facilitate office moves and manage janitorial duties, all while remaining in compliance with STERIS standards as well as local, state, federal and all governing regulations.

What You Will Do

  • Develop routine systems to ensure constant monitoring of Facilities and ensure consistent maintenance and repair methods for all building components.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly building inspections with a high attention to detail to identify necessary repairs.
  • Coordinate and oversee routine maintenance for all Facilities to include timely repairs in the areas of painting, carpentry, plumbing, food and beverage equipment, seating, and all related building components.
  • Provide constant attention to all safety issues; ensure building emergency systems are operational through in-house inspections and vendor maintenance contracts, licenses or similar.
  • Supervise, inspect, and provide direction and follow-up with janitorial/cleaning service provider. Ensure compliance with contract and STERIS cleaning standards.
  • Follow instructions on safe use of all chemicals/cleaning materials.
  • Increase the efficiency of the Facilities Maintenance staff by providing cost saving ideas, new and innovative ways to provide more effective services.
  • Maintain spreadsheet of door/office keys and inventory of existing keys and distribute when necessary.
What You Will Also Do

  • Prepare the Facilities Maintenance Department Fiscal Year Expense Budget for Director Global Facilities. Maintain and review with manager on monthly basis.
  • Provide written reports documenting Facilities Maintenance Department operations as may be assigned by manager.
  • Coordinate and organize facilities Maintenance Department during evacuations and emergency response situations with manager and other STERIS response teams.
  • Participate in coordination of means, methods and task with other Global Facilities sites and teams as may be directed by manager.
  • Manage facilities maintenance software and related systems as may be requested by manager.
  • Promote exceptional Customer care and service to both our internal and external Customers.
  • Review vendor billing, purchase orders for processing and payment. Work with Global Facilities Coordinator to assist with processing payment to outside vendors and contractors.
  • Assist with preparation of outlining contracts with various STERIS vendors as may be assigned by manager.
  • Oversee vendor activities that include the scheduling of repair and maintenance needs as required; closely monitor progress to ensure quality of work.
  • Manage special projects, as assigned.

What You Will Need to be Successful

  • Associate degreeand 7 years of experience, orHigh School diploma or GED and 11 years' experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 7 + years' experience in amaintenance or facilities maintenancerelated position.
  • 5 + years' experience in facilities management position including3 + years in a supervisor or leadposition.
  • Valid Driver'sLicense
  • Knowledge of best practices in building maintenance, repair construction, materials and equipment.
  • Able to read and understand blueprints, electrical, mechanical and automation systems.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Preferred Experience

  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems preferred
  • CAD experience or CMMS experience, preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency (Spanish/ English), a plus.
