Sr. Risk Analyst

As an Application Analyst you will be assigned a portfolio of applications that are used across the Financial Services Division. Within this portfolio, the Application Analyst will be responsible for understanding the risk associated with each application as well as the control environment for each. For example, the Application Analyst will review the various roles and permissions allowed within each application. These roles and permissions will be analyzed and categorized by level of risk. Data analysis skills are important as well as leveraging SQL or Snowflake to pull data.

The ideal candidate must be able to understand and analyze basic technical concepts in order to be able to effectively review each application, understand and apply risk and controls to each application and be able to communicate effectively with both technical and business associates, especially those in a more senior role as any application owner will be in a higher role than the Application Analyst. The candidate must be able to manage time, prioritize multiple tasks and escalate when appropriately. The output of this work may affect thousands of users, so attention to detail is critical.

Responsibilities:

  • Application role definition and maintenance

  • Identify and analyze segregation of duties

  • Mitigate Risk within an application

  • Perform trigger based application analysis

  • Assign risk levels

  • Application Migrations and Onboarding

  • Application Reconciliation (i.e. accurate user records)

  • Provide subject matter expertise, as needed, for various applications

  • Establish relationships with stakeholders

  • Track and ensure remediation of improvement opportunities

  • Handle multiple tasks independently to meet strict deadlines and escalate when necessary

  • Document processes and projects (creating reports, presentations)


Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED, Equivalent Certification

  • At least 2 years of experience in Process Management or Risk Management


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree

  • 3 + years of experience in Project or Process Management

  • 3 + years of experience in the Financial industry
