ROLE: The Quality Manager plans, coordinates and directs, the Quality Management System designed to ensure continuous production of products or products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Develop, administer and maintain quality assurance procedures and activities required to ensure that the company's products are in compliance with quality standards as required.
  • Promotes quality assurance philosophy to key personnel in organization.
  • Establish quality control and inspection procedures for receipt of materials, in-process and final acceptance activities.
  • Schedule and control inspection activities.
  • Supervise inspectors to accomplish inspection activities.
  • Develop quality standards.
  • Define test standards and specify test equipment and procedures.
  • Participate in design review meetings to contribute quality assurance requirements and considerations.
  • Supervise and train all members of the quality control department to ensure their expertise and productivity.
  • Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
  • Work with customer QC representatives to coordinate inspection and acceptance activities.
  • Review QC control requirements with customer representative assuring compliance with requirements.
  • Work with supplier QC representatives to flow down and coordinate inspection and acceptance activities.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards
  • Review contractually required documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Performs special assignments related to product support requiring the gathering and analysis of data.
  • Establish and oversee the company's calibration program and maintain calibration procedures for instrumentation to assure traceability of instrumentation.
  • Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality.
  • Acts as a liaison between the company and the FAA, organizing material during the FAA and customer audits.
  • Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
  • Analyzing variances, initiating corrective actions.
  • Maintains team by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training Team Members; maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Accomplishes Team Member results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing professional networks, participating in professional societies.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university required

EXPERIENCE

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience within a FAA Production Approval Holder is a plus

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Applicable certifications a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS OR ABILITIES

  • Language: English Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, associates, customers, and the general public.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in all MS Office Suite, MS Word, Excel, Outlook; proficient with Quality Information Systems, ERP Systems.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Reasoning Abilities: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills, strict attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and prioritize, as necessary. Ability to set clear goals, manage issues and escalate when necessary to achieve results, ability to manage a heavy work load under tight deadlines.

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk or hear; and frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Position will work primarily in an office environment with low noise level.
