Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Production Test Supervisor, the Tester 2 will function as a member of the Testing Department Team. Ensure that all products meet or exceed customer requirements. Follow test procedures while utilizing Test Fixtures/Test Equipment (Oscilloscope and Multimeter) to test/calibrate digital logic and analog power control products to ensure conformity to specifications and quality standards. Capable of working in a fast-paced environment, with fast changing priorities all moving towards the overall goal of being efficient and participating in a total team environment. Maintain the quality of work being produced and adhering to all safety standards set forth by the company.

Job Description

The Testing Technician is responsible fordesigning and testing various company products.
  • Prepare PCB boards for testing (PCB depaneling, leads trimming, trim pots preset and other similar tasks).
  • Perform pre-inspection of all components and soldering prior to performing functional testing.
  • Read and follow test procedures while utilizing manual test fixtures and test equipment.
  • Identify assembly mistakes and defective parts.
  • Initiate quality action when product is deemed as non-conforming.
  • Identify faulty units during test and create detail label with failures.
  • Capable of performing initial setup of test equipment (Oscilloscopes, Multi-Meter and Programmable Power Suplies) and standard test fixtures per test procedures.
  • Capable of helping Test Engineering with new employees training.
  • Effective recognizing faulty units during test and capable of identify typical testing issues.
  • Capable of identify electronics component and soldering issues (I.e. wrong values/parts, missing parts, backward and damage)
  • Learn basic soldering for Thru-hole.
  • Record product test results, anomalies, and restoration information as required.
  • Assist co-workers with production task such as; packaging, labeling, etc. to obtain daily production goals.
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisory or management team.
  • Strong problem solving and teamwork skills

Additional Job Details

Education/ Qualifications

  • Technical Degree or experience (see below)
  • Electronics/Engineering Associate Degree is preferred
  • (New hires with experience only) Two year experience testing and/or repairing electronics products
  • (New hires with Essential/Desire Educacion) No experience required.
  • (Internal Promotions) Fully trained on one (1) or more KB product lines (I.e. KBVF, KBAC).
  • SMT soldering, capable of setting up test equipment (I.e. Multimeter and Oscilloscope) and electronic products troubleshot /repair is preferred.

Languages

  • English necessary (conversational and reading)
