Overview

Business Development Manager will identify opportunities, seek and engage new clients, develop new proposals and manage existing accounts. This position requires the individual to have consistent contact with clients, maintain awareness regarding industry standards and client expectations, utilize time efficiently and travel on an as needed basis. The successful candidate will work in conjunction with the Vice President of Business Development, as well as with others, to demonstrate and achieve superior customer service and market knowledge, and strive to meet and exceed the company's revenue objectives.

Responsibilities

    Assist to drive the development of provincial, Ontario, sales with particular focus on the medical legal, Independent Adjusters and Life/Health market.
  • Maintain key customer relationships and develop and implement strategies for expanding the company's customer base.
  • Act as a liaison between clients and the company, actively promote services, gather and exchanges information.
  • Represent the company at industry functions, conferences, tradeshows, seminars, meetings, and when necessary, organize and conduct client entertainment.
  • Inform clients of updates in regards to policy changes, services and physicians.
  • Assist in resolving client concerns relative to service and report quality issues in a timely manner.
  • Visit physicians as necessary and assist with physician recruiting efforts as required.
  • Evaluate the results of overall sales efforts regularly and report these results to the Sr. Vice President of Business Development.
  • Continuously analyze the market and competition and identify external threats and opportunities and adapt sales strategy to changing conditions.
  • Provide weekly, monthly and or quarterly updates as directed
  • Attend all sales and marketing meetings as directed; travel when necessary.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.

ESSENTIAL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Carrying out all responsibilities in accordance with the company's standards, policies, and all applicable employment laws.
  • Encouraging positive morale, maintaining harmony among staff, and resolving grievances when necessary.
  • In conjunction with management, communicating change effectively and supporting those affected by change.
  • Conduct high-level industry research to develop effective sales solutions
  • Promote the company's products or services to prospective clients
  • Participate in collaborative business meetings to update key stakeholders
  • Provide continuous, constructive feedback to the team
  • Review sales contracts to ensure they meet legal and corporate guidelines
  • Interact with clients and respond to important inquiries about the company's products or services
Qualifications

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Must hold a valid Driver's License.

  • Educational background in business, marketing, or finance
  • Must demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness and look for ways to improve and promote quality and monitors own work to ensure quality is met.
  • Must demonstrate exceptional communication skills by conveying necessary information accurately, listening effectively and asking questions where clarification is needed.
  • Must be able to work independently, prioritize work activities and use time efficiently.
